    Biography

    CPT Vincent Viggato graduated from the University of Michigan, earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. After completion of University of Michigan's Army ROTC Program in May 2015, he commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Armor branch.

    CPT Viggato's first assignment was to Apache Troop, 2nd Squadron 1st United States Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 4th Infantry Division where he served as a Scout Platoon Leader from 2017 – 2018, and participated in two National Training Center rotations in preparation for the unit's deployment. From April 2018 to January 2019, CPT Viggato deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom's Sentinel (OFS) where he served as a Troop Executive Officer in Battle Troop.

    Upon return from deployment, CPT Viggato was selected to participate in the Patton Program as an Assistant Professor of Military Science. The Patton Program aims to increase in minority representation within the Army's combat arms branches. 

    Military Education:

    Ranger School, Cavalry Leader Course, Army Reconnaissance Course, Airborne School, Stryker Leader Course, Combatives Level I, and Master Educator Course

     

    Awards and Decorations:

    Bronze Star Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Ranger Tab, and Parachutist Badge.
