He joined the Army in July of 2004 and attended OSUT (One Station Unit Training) at FT Sill, OK to be a Cannon Crewmember.</p><p>During his career, Sergeant First Class Lucas served as a Military Science Instructor, Howitzer Platoon Sergeant, Howitzer Gunnery Sergeant, Howitzer Section Chief, Howitzer Gunner, and Cannon Crewmember. He participated in Operation Enduring Freedom from 2005-2006 and from 2010-2011. He also participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2007-2008.</p><p>Sergeant First Class Lucas has been assigned to the following units: 2nd Battalion 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment at Fort Bragg NC, 2nd Battalion 320th Field Artillery Regiment at Fort Campbell KY, 3rd Battalion 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment at FT Bragg NC, and is currently assigned as a Military Science Instructor at the University of Delaware in Newark Delaware.</p><p>Sergeant First Class Lucas' military education includes the Unit Prevention Leader course, Common Faculty Development Instructor Course, Equal Opportunity Leader course, Senior Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Basic Leader Course, Jumpmaster School, Combatives Level 1, Air Assault School, Field Artillery Weapons Maintenance Course, Combat Life Saver Course, Field Sanitation Course, and Airborne School.</p><p>Sergeant First Class Lucas' awards and decorations include the Senior Parachutists Badge, Basic Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Combat Action Badge, Drivers Badge, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (4 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Achievement Medal (9 Oak Leaf Clusters), Good Conduct Medal (4th Award), Afghan Campaign Medal (2 Campaign Stars), National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal(1 Campaign Star), Global War on Terrorism Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 3), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 3), and NATO Medal (Afghanistan).</p><p>Sergeant First Class Lucas married his wife Melissa Lucas (Werner) in February 2010 and currently resides in Dover Delaware. </p></div>timothy.d.lucas8.mil@mail.miltdlucas@desu.eduLucas, SFC Timothy D.302-857-7361​​​​​​​<img alt="" src="/Images%20Bios/SFC%20Lucas%20-%20Bn%20bkgd%202.0.PNG" style="BORDER:0px solid;" />Military Science InstructorSergeant First ClassUS Armyhttps://cast.desu.edu/programs/rotc
