On Friday February 2nd at 4:00 p.m., Alexis Jacquot commissioned as a Second Lieutenant nurse in the United States Army from the University of Delaware’s Fightin’ Blue Hen ROTC Battalion. The ceremony was held on campus at Clayton Hall after her nursing school graduation. United States Air Force LTG Roudebush was a guest speaker and spoke on behalf of 2LT Jacquot. LTG Roudebush talked about the importance of nurses in the military and immediately could tell that 2LT Jacquot would be an amazing asset to the United States Army Nurse Corp.
2LT Jacquot is from Boyertown, PA. She came to University of Delaware to study at its high ranking Nursing program and joined Army ROTC her freshman year. While balancing a heavy course load and ROTC training, 2LT Jacquot also played club softball as a centerfielder for four years. During this time she helped bring her team to Nationals each year to rank in the top 10 routinely.
As a cadet she succeeded in physical fitness, academics, and mentorship. 2LT Jacquot maxes her APFT, ran several races, achieved gold in the German Armed Forces Badge, and coached younger cadets to perform better. In the classroom she regularly achieved dean’s list and effectively taught younger cadets basic soldier skills. 2LT Jacquot served as an inspiration mentor to many cadets/teammates/classmates for her hard work, success in physical fitness and her dedication to God. Her approachable and empathetic personality transcends into great leadership and mentorship. 2LT Jacquot’s passion in nursing is serving elderly patients as well as veterans. She is currently waiting for her first duty station.
